Week 2 has come and gone!!

Can you believe we are all done with 2 weeks already!! What a great 2 weeks its been. We really enjoyed getting to know eachother this past week and sharing some of our favorite things with each other.

We also started working on writing our names. Use this site as a way to continue their name writing at home. It helps them learn to form their letters properly. Watch how they hold their writing utensil. Correct it if they are too high on the pencil or holding it in a fist.

Everyone is enjoying taking home Frank the Frog. Monday a new calendar will be provided with the names of the rest of the classmates that get to take Frank the Frog home. The day your kids name is on, is when they BRING BACK Frank the Frog and bring a snack to share. I know we have many that have yet to take Frank the Frog home, but everyone will get a time soon!!

Monday we will be starting our homework packets, reading logs and also learning our letters. Continue their learning at home. Your kids need constant reminders and exposures for them to completely grasp what they are taught in school.

If you ever have any concerns or questions, please ask. Our communication is key. I don't always have time to have one-on-one conversations with everyone after preschool but please call or email me anytime to check in or ask a question.

First Day of School!!

School is officially underway. Our first day of school went well and we're on our way to all becoming good friends. I'm so excited about the classes we have this year. The dynamics in both classes are so different but so fun at the same time. I already see friendships forming. This first week, we are focusing on getting to know each other and getting comfortable with preschool and how we do things. Next week we will be doing an "All About Me" week. Each day will be a day where your child can bring in something for us to get to know them a little bit better.

Monday is "wear your favorite color"
Wednesday is "bring a picture of your favorite food" or just come prepared to talk about it
Friday is "bring your favorite toy" for show-n-tell.

Frank the Frog also starts his home visits this next week. The kids have been so excited about this. This first time around, we will be doing a special spotlight on your child when they bring back Frank. They will be bringing home a poster for them to fill out about themselves and that we will go over in class. If you have any questions let me know.

This has been a wonderful week and look forward to getting to know each child better :)

Jumpstart Preschool

The program at Jumpstart Preschool is designed to get children ready for every aspect of kindergarten: socially and academically. The number one goal is to help your child get excited about going to school and learning! Children between the ages of 3 and 5 learn and explore together in a fun and nuturing learning environment. Preschool features a structured academic program. The curriculum includes language arts, reading readiness, math and handwriting. The program also includes science, social studies, computer, arts & crafts and music. The curriculum is integrated throughout the preschool day. Everything we do throughout our preschool day from circle time to play time is helping the children to learn and delevelop academically, socially and emotionally.

My goal for preschool is to provide a friendly, warm, and caring place for all who enters.
To develop a positive self image in every child through activities that promote basic skills such as sharing, following directions, and cooperation
To create an environment structured for learning and mental development
To provide play that develops social and emotional development through music, movement and imagination
TO PREPARE YOUR CHILD FOR KINDERGARTEN!
